Crossland High School vs Fairmont Heights Senior High school baseball game (4/10/14)

Posted On: Saturday, April 12, 2014

After an impressive 15-5 win over Central High school, Crossland High school looked to face a determined Fairmont Heights team. Knowing the task would not be easy, Crossland hoped to have enough energy left, from the game they had played before. In the first inning, Crossland’s pitcher Christian Tymain threw well. Then Fairmont went for four straight runs, After calming down his nerves Christian Tymain started to find his groove, hitting to his catcher Austin. But it was not long until Fairmont went for three more runs. In the second inning, Fairmont heights pitcher Anthony Valasquez had pitched a strike, and then number 22 from Crossland had scored a home run. Which made the score 7-1 going into the third inning. In innings, three through four both Crossland’s Christian Tymain and Fairmont Heights Anthony Valasquez  had done excellent pitching, causing no home runs. Until, the fifth inning where Fairmont had scored two home runs and in the sixth inning Crossland had scored one home run. The important plays that led to Crossland’s loss was Fairmont outstanding hitting and pitching. Fairmont had came on top early, leaving Crossland to do everything they could to try to come back. The player of the game would be Fairmont’s Anthony Valasquez. Crossland will have to bounce back against Surrasttville  High School on Friday, April 11, 2014. But, in order to do so they will need more effective pitching and more all around effort by sprinting to the bases, catching the ball in the outfield and decent hitting. All things they have the ability to do, and I believe will do.
