With a long offseason of preparing in the weight room and on the track, look for Crossland’s outdoor track team to have a productive season. In order to have success, this team will need balance from both their sprinters and distance runners by having decent times and possibly scoring points. With the addition of Shavelle Pettis along with Joseph Fletcher, Jaquel Felder , and Rico Williams look for the boys to have a strong relay team. I expect sprinter Joseph Fletcher, to have an all around break-out season by dropping his times in all of his events and continue to improve on his electrifying starts. Look for sprinters Shavelle Pettis and Rico Williams to continue to improve in the short sprints in the 100 and 200m. While Jaqual Felder, improves in the 200 and 400m. On the girls side, look for sprinter Keisha Dockery to have a break-out season in the 100 and 200m, While the new sprinters Blessing Clarkson, Donnesha Streetman look to drop down their times in the 100 and 200m as well. Emily Hash brings balance to both the sprinting and the distance events, running a 3:01.6 in the 800m in her first meet ever last Thursday at Central high school. . The runner who I expect to have a bounce back season from indoor is sprinter Imani Olajuwon, look for Imani to improve in her times the 100 and 200m and on the boys side look for sprinter Rico Williams to lower his times in his events, Rico has speed along with endurance that has made him quite successful last indoor season. This outdoor season will be very intriguing for the cavs, I expect the team to have a lot of balance and productivity.
